Northern Nevada Low-Income
Energy Conservation Program

If you live in northern Nevada and receive gas service from Southwest Gas, you may be eligible to participate in our Low-Income Energy Conservation (LIEC) program. The LIEC program provides income-qualified customers free energy education, weatherization measures and energy-efficient appliances to reduce natural gas usage. In northern Nevada, Southwest Gas serves areas of Churchill, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Pershing, Carson, Douglas, Lyon, and Washoe Counties.

Examples of energy saving measures installed through the program may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ceiling, floor and duct insulation
  • Duct leakage sealing
  • Shell infiltration sealing
  • Insulation of water heater and water heater pipes
  • Minor home repairs
  • Heating and cooling system repairs/replacements
  • Health and safety measures

In order to participate in this program, a northern Nevada Southwest Gas customer must not exceed the income qualifications set forth by the U.S. Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program.
