Credit on Your Natural Gas Bill

For Arizona customers,

As a result of federal tax reform, our customers will receive credits on their natural gas bill beginning August 2018.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 reduced the federal income tax rate for corporations like Southwest Gas, and we’re passing the savings on to you. The Arizona Corporation Commission authorized us to return $20 million in tax reform benefits to customers through a combination of a one-time credit for the tax savings from January through July 2018 and then a monthly credit of $0.03170 per therm until rates from the Company's next general rate case are effective. That means that the average residential customer will see a monthly credit of approximately $0.82 starting in August. This amount is based on the average consumption per month of 26 therms. Customers will see the one-time credit on their bills beginning in the middle of August.
