SOUTHWEST GAS TO PERFORM
CONTROLLED GAS RELEASE IN HENDERSON
Las Vegas, Nev.- Southwest Gas will perform a controlled natural gas release on Friday, Oct., 29, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Boulder Highway in the areas of Lincoln Road and Magic Way. The company does not expect an interruption in service during the controlled release, which will take about 30 minutes.
Southwest Gas officials want to reassure the public that the release of natural gas is a routine procedure during maintenance on its pipeline facilities. During the release, the odor of rotten eggs will be noticeable and a noise similar to that of a jet engine will be heard. The company recommends that pets be leashed or kept inside during this time due to the anticipated noise.
Members of the public should call Southwest Gas at (702) 365-2040 if they have any concerns or questions. Officials from the City of Henderson and Clark County including the fire and police departments have been notified of the controlled release.
Southwest Gas provides natural gas service to more than 1.8 million customers in Arizona, California and Nevada.
