2 c. sugar
3 eggs (room temperature)
2 t. vanilla
2 t. baking soda
3/4 c. buttermilk

Add flour mix and buttermilk alternately mixing well after each addition. Chill for a couple of hours. Knead lightly. Roll out to about 1/4-1/2" thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.

Frosting

1 box powdered sugar
2 T. butter, softened
2 T. half & half (added 1 T. at a time)
Food coloring
*Add a few drops of water to make frosting glossy

Stir first two frosting ingredients until mixed, add half & half a little at a time until it looks like frosting and then add color. Spread on cookies and immediately add the sprinkles. Freeze for a short time to set up. Keep in an air-tight container with wax paper in between layers of cookies. To keep cookies soft, put a piece of bread on top and seal.
